The Day of Judgment is a promise from Allah that will surely come. On that day, all of humanity from the time of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) to the last generation will be gathered in the Plain of Mahsyar. There, the deeds weighed on the Plain of Mahsyar will determine whether we belong to the fortunate or otherwise. No one can escape the reckoning and accounting. Every breath, every step, and every action we take in this world will be reviewed before Allah the Almighty.
The Word of Allah SWT in Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 47:
“And We will set up the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection, so no one will be wronged, even the slightest bit. Even if a deed weighs as little as a mustard seed, We will surely bring it forth. And We are sufficient as the Reckoner.”
This verse reminds us that Allah is All-Knowing. Even a small act like a sincere smile will be rewarded, and even a sin as small as a wicked thought will be revealed.

Reflection on the Day of Reckoning
Reflection on the Day of Reckoning
Have we ever paused to reflect on how many good deeds we have accumulated and how many sins weigh heavily on us? This world is merely a place to sow seeds, while in the Hereafter, all the results will be reaped. Therefore, The Day of Judgment is the moment when all of that will be weighed with perfect justice.
We often make excuses: “I'm busy; I haven't had time to worship.” Yet every second that passes is Allah's invitation for us to increase our provisions for the Hereafter. If we ignore that invitation, what will we bring on the Day of Reckoning? Truly, only deeds done sincerely for His sake will save us at the scales.
Allah S.W.T. says in the Qur'an:

Meaning: “Whoever has their scales (of good deeds) heavy, they are the ones who will be successful. And whoever has their scales light, they are the ones who have lost themselves, abiding in Hell.”
[Surah Al-Mu'minun: 102-103]
This verse reminds us that every deed—no matter how small—will determine whether our scales are heavy or light on the Day of Judgment. Have we ever thought that every time our foreheads touch the ground in prostration, that ground will testify before Allah SWT? Imagine if all of Selangor were filled with our prostrations in its mosques—how many witnesses there would be to intercede for us then.
This is the beauty of deeds performed sincerely for Allah. Sujud, prayer in congregation, dhikr, supplication, even every step toward the House of Allah—all of it will be counted. Deeds that may seem small in this world can, in truth, become a salvation that weighs heavily on our scales in the Hereafter.
The Day of Reckoning: The Practices Weighed on the Great Scale
Every deed we perform in this world will be presented on the Day of Judgment. Therefore, remember that what we do cannot necessarily be hidden, even if only we ourselves know, because Allah is All-Seeing.
Imagine a scene of countless people standing anxiously, waiting their turn to be judged. The sun is drawn so close that its scorching heat is palpable, sweat pouring in proportion to their sins. In that state of utter dread, only the deeds we have accumulated in this world will serve as our salvation.
Allah the Almighty is Just. Every person will receive a fitting recompense for what they do in this world. Even deeds considered small and trivial never escape the angels' records. Thus, this world is merely a place to sow the seeds of deeds, while the Hereafter is the place to reap their rewards.
Types of Actions Weighed on the Day of Judgment
In Selangor alone, there are already plenty of beautiful, soul-soothing mosques, each with its own unique charm. For me, having set foot here, it's truly hard to put into words. Some mosques captivate you with their magnificent architecture, some refresh the heart with their tranquil atmosphere, and others are special because they carry the identity of a particular community.
1. Worship Practice

Prayer, fasting, zakat, and hajj are the foundations of a Muslim's life. They are like pillars that uphold the structure of faith. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“The first thing to be accounted for from a servant on the Day of Judgment is his prayer.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud)
If our prayers are perfect, they will become a light on the Day of Judgment. But if our prayers are neglected, other deeds will also become fragile. Such is the great position of obligatory worship.
2. The Practice of Mutual Human Kindness
Islam is not just a ritual religion, but a religion of ethics. Maintaining family ties, honoring one's parents, helping neighbors, being just, and speaking kind words are among the deeds that carry great weight in the sight of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reminded us that a woman who is diligent in worship but harms her neighbor with her tongue will have her place in Hell. Conversely, someone who may have fewer voluntary deeds but guards the hearts of others will be honored.
3. Practice of Sadaqah & Infak

Charity is like a seed that keeps sprouting. The wealth we give for the sake of Allah will not diminish; rather, it will be multiplied many times over. Allah the Almighty says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 261:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a grain that produces seven ears, each ear containing a hundred grains. Allah multiplies (the reward) for whoever He wills.”
As long as our charity provides benefit, its rewards will continue to flow even after our bodies have long since returned to the earth.
4. The Practice of Useful Knowledge
Knowledge imparted with sincerity becomes a light that illuminates the world. A teacher who teaches, parents who educate their children, even a friend who reminds them of goodness – all of these will receive a reward. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“When a child of Adam dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and the prayers of a righteous child.” (Narrated by Muslim)
Imagine, one sentence we teach could save the next generation. This is an invaluable gift.
5. Sinful Practices & Injustice
Bad deeds will also be weighed. Unpaid debts, broken promises, slander, gossip, and oppression of others will weigh down the scales of sin. On that day, a person's good deeds may be transferred to someone they have wronged. If their good deeds are exhausted, the sins of others will be transferred to them.
This is what's frightening – sins between people will not be forgiven until the wronged person is at peace.
Conclusion
The Day of Judgment is a day of absolute justice. No one can deceive or conceal their deeds. Therefore, never underestimate small good deeds, and do not despair over major sins. As long as you are alive, the door of repentance is always open.
Let us increase our worship, improve our morals, give charity even in small amounts, spread beneficial knowledge, and avoid all forms of injustice. May our scales of deeds be heavy with goodness.
